As a part of Interactive Caregiving®, Comfort Keepers® encourage senior clients to help with housework, meal preparation and more, enabling seniors to feel connected and engaged. Every senior has different needs, which is why Comfort Keepers creates a customized service plan for each senior client.
Many seniors need help with light, indoor housekeeping. This can include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, straightening rooms, organizing closets and drawers and cleaning interior windows that can be reached without a ladder. Often, seniors are able to join their caregiver in this housework, connecting socially while feeling useful.
Many seniors do not get the opportunity to eat well-balanced meals. Comfort Keepers can help with grocery shopping to make sure the senior is eating nutritiously. The senior has the option of staying home and resting while the caregiver runs the errands; however, many seniors choose to come along, helping pick out their favorite foods and enjoying the opportunity to get out of the house. Caregivers can also help with meal preparation, cooking hot, delicious, nutritious meals to be enjoyed together.
Comfort Keepers can assist seniors with laundry, which can be done in the client’s home or a local laundromat. Caregivers involve each client to make sure laundry is done according to their preferences.
Many seniors can feel trapped in their homes if they are unable to drive. Comfort Keepers caregivers can provide transportation services to seniors, allowing them the freedom to go shopping or to other activities, as well as to medical appointments, the barbershop or beauty salon and other places the senior chooses.
